About the Role
The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position offers a flexible and dependable option for individuals seeking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, including interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter, while reporting unusual conditions and/or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter unauthorized entry and supporting a professional environment.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken according to site procedures.
- Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications while maintaining awareness of changing site conditions.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
