About the Role
The Associate Merchandiser provides organizational support to the Merchandising team and partners with their Merchandiser on the day-to-day business. This role leverages organizational and analytical skills, along with an eye for relevant trends, to support the brand and achieve financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes merchandising strategies to maximize sales, margin, inventory turnover, visual presentation, and customer satisfaction.
- Reviews and reacts to sales performance and selling reports for specific categories.
- Plans and executes pricing strategies to maximize sales, margin, and inventory management for specific categories.
- Develops assortment plans, sales forecasts, and analyzes sales figures for specific categories.
- Manages the full lifecycle of the Purchase Order, including issuance, reconciliation, vendor follow-up, receipt flow, and markdown management for stores and e-commerce.
- Creates and maintains necessary reporting, including weekly selling reports, Hindsight reports, store reports, and best sellers.
- Maintains data integrity in systems and documentation, including Seasonal Buys, Seasonal Compass, and Product Overview Sheets.
- Monitors industry trends and evaluates competition to ensure competitive pricing and promotions, proposing ideas to drive business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Fashion Merchandising.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in a buying or merchandising role.
- Prior experience in women’s sportswear required.
- Sense of urgency, flexibility, and ability to multi-task.
- Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, with an emphasis on spreadsheet applications.
- Open-minded and positive attitude with the ability to partner cross-functionally and grow relationships.
- Strong business acumen and ability to quickly assess environments and develop solutions.
- Creative with a strategic mindset and ability to turn concepts into action.
