About the Role
BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team, focusing on receiving, preparing, and merchandising fresh and processed meats. This role is crucial for maintaining department standards and ensuring member satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats.
- Assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses.
- Assist in the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli.
- Prepare special meat arrangements for members.
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.
- Engage and assist members by making recommendations and answering questions.
- Cut, grind, and process fresh meats to company standards.
- Weigh, package, wrap, and label meat, poultry, and seafood.
- Ensure the meat case showcases all available products and maintains inventory levels.
- Keep meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases fully stocked.
- Rotate products according to expiration dates and dispose of expired items.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
- Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses.
- Maintain club policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
- Ensure regular, predictable, full attendance.
Requirements
- Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
- Previous meat cutting experience required.
- At least 18 years of age.
Skills
- Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
- Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT, is recognized.
