About the Role
This position will enhance existing or create new databases to perform calculations, organize and save data, and create reports for various Revenue Operations groups. The role is responsible for helping the organization make sound operational decisions by analyzing budgets, business processes, and performance data.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, including variance analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Create, maintain, and enhance databases, spreadsheets, reports, and data reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, analysis, and reporting.
- Analyze business and financial performance, identify trends, risks, cost-saving opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead problem-solving and process improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, gap assessment, and solution implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Manage competing priorities and stakeholder requests while ensuring timely, accurate deliverables.
- Track vendor contracts, invoices, and project expenditures.
- Support special projects and other business initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Social Science, or a related discipline, and 2 years of experience performing analysis (e.g., data analysis, financial analysis, business analysis, or other relevant analytical work); in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of experience performing analysis may be considered.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Access, Excel, Power Point, Word, Tableau and SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Must have excellent verbal, quantitative and written communication skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and a safe and satisfactory driving history.
- Must demonstrate a sense of teamwork and initiative.
- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
- Some positions at PSEG require access to information covered by the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 (Part 810). - As an employee of PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm/outage restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and work extended hours beyond your regular work schedule. You may also be required to work on premise or in an alternate location as directed by the company.
