About the Role
Serve as an available resource to advise Marketing Associates and Program Account Executives on EI product matching, sources, and pricing, with responsibilities spanning Merchandising, Sales, and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with merchandisers regarding new items, major account opportunities, and product issues.
- Assist in growing earned income by focusing on products with enhanced earned income.
- Participate in Merchandising meetings.
- Grow new business by working closely with Marketing Associates on key accounts.
- Analyze lost sales and penetration opportunities using software.
- Partner with Sales to recover or obtain seafood line business.
- Keep the sales force informed about available products.
- Make presentations or lead ongoing training for Marketing Associates.
- Organize new product introductions for the sales force.
- Assist sales in acquiring surrounding items to eliminate competition in accounts.
- Grow the category by penetrating existing business and opening new business with sales partners.
- Train the sales department during ride-with time to enhance their knowledge and confidence in selling EI products.
- Attend, participate, and present at District and Regional Sales Meetings.
- Schedule customer sales calls and presentations.
- Develop and take responsibility for a target account list.
- Plan and organize new employee orientation training.
- Grow EI Brand percentage by focusing on EI Branded items and opportunities.
- Plan and organize the EI area for all Sysco Food Shows.
- Assist with field and in-house Customer visits and tours.
- Adhere to all applicable GMP, personal hygiene, and SQF policies and procedures.
- Submit itineraries on a weekly basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of sales experience within a food service distribution environment.
- Experience with specialty and import foods is a plus.
- Ability to educate and showcase specialty food products to chefs, sales associates, and other key stakeholders.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of co-workers, managers, and outside parties.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to travel 50% of the time in the designated territory.
- Efficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Live in the assigned territory.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, reach, and stoop occasionally.
- Must be able to look at a computer screen for prolonged periods of time and type.
- Requires the ability to read written instructions, reports, and other documentation.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
