About the Role
As a Physiotherapist at the Reactivation Care Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital, you will practice in an environment that pairs clinical depth with dedicated discipline support. Your work will be grounded in current research within a University of Toronto affiliated teaching hospital, committed to evidence-informed care, clinical mentorship, and ongoing learning. You will evaluate and treat complex functional challenges in adults transitioning toward home or community placement, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan and provide therapeutic intervention for an assigned patient caseload according to physiotherapy scope of practice.
- Compile appropriate documentation of physiotherapy activities.
- Discharge planning.
- Record workload measurement.
- Supervise Physiotherapy Assistants as per college guidelines.
- Participate in inter-professional clinics, rounds and discussions.
- Participate in teaching students from other disciplines.
- Mentor fellow colleagues, if appropriate.
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required.
Requirements
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
- Strong experience in interdisciplinary education.
- 1 year of experience in the treatment of clients/patients.
- Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
Skills
- Excellent physiotherapy clinical skills with a broad variety of diagnostic groups including skills working with a geriatric population.
- Experience and skill in complex decision-making processes and in advancing best practice initiatives and exploration of innovative models of care.
- Experience in self-reflective learning and skill in ability to adapt and respond effectively to change.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; professional, diplomatic and confident with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

- The Reactivation Care Centre (RCC) offers therapeutic care to help patients rebuild strength, independence and confidence.
- This inpatient program supports recovery and helps patients get ready to safely transition from a hospital stay and return home or to another place in the community.
- It is designed for individuals who present with decreased mobility, independence and/or function as a result of an acute illness or surgery.
- Sinai Health operates the 16 bed inpatient unit with the UHN-RCC facility in partnership with University Health Network and Trillium Health Partners.
- We focus on patients with potential for functional improvement, providing tailored care plans and utilizing state-of-the-art tools to support their recovery journey.
- Depending on the reactivation goals patients typically experience an average length of stay of 30 to 60 days.
