About the Role

Ship Control develops and integrates electronic systems for various Ship Control Systems (SCS), Monitoring Systems, and Portable Ship Control Systems (PSCS) supporting the VA/CLB. The role involves hardware production, shipboard installation, testing, delivery, and fleet support for delivered submarines. The candidate will also act as a point of contact for Special Emphasis Program audits.

Responsibilities

Lead systems engineering for Ship Control upgrades during Overhaul & Repair availabilities, including development, build, installation, and certification.
Consult with the Ship Control Hardware design team.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems on deck plates with component engineers and technicians, up to initial shipbuilder sea trials.
Oversee production testing of components and systems.
Develop troubleshooting procedures and technical documentation for new construction.
Provide input for the development of logistics products.
Instruct trade personnel according to Fly-By-Wire (FBW) quality requirements and division process directives.
Provide technical input for test form development.
Perform engineering review and approval of Design Disclosures.
Support development and production of Ship Control Electrical Components.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of related experience
Experience in testing and/or operations of Electronics Systems
Navy background preferred
Knowledge of submarine construction and test philosophies is highly desirable.
