About the Role
The Programmatic Manager oversees day-to-day campaign activity, managing account services, planning, setup, and activation of programmatic campaigns for assigned clients. This role involves building positive relationships with agency partners and clients, utilizing multiple programmatic platforms for campaign development, activation, and reporting, and optimizing client investments across all programmatic channels.
Responsibilities
- Ensure campaign timelines are adhered to throughout the process, including plan deadlines, creative trafficking, and go-live dates.
- Manage campaigns from beginning to end, including initial briefings, planning, platform setup, go-live, and post-reporting.
- Participate in discussions about potential campaigns and attend new campaign briefings, assisting agencies with RFPs.
- Develop programmatic plans using knowledge of DSP capabilities.
- Communicate media plan requirements accurately to relevant teams and ensure correct entry into platforms.
- Work across various platforms including trading (DSPs), financial (MediaOcean), proprietary tools, and analytics/reporting.
- Establish respectful relationships with internal and external teams.
- Utilize optimization tools to achieve performance goals and ensure full campaign delivery, recommending alternatives as needed.
- Manage and optimize in-house tactics according to best practices, overseeing pacing, performance, and quality through direct console actions or guidance to coordinators.
- Maintain detailed optimization notes and campaign insights.
- Stay informed about the programmatic landscape and partner value propositions.
- Participate in client meetings, brainstorms, and presentations, sharing ideas.
- Propose new ideas, processes, or additions to services, planning, and trading toolkits.
- Mentor and improve team coordinators' skills through vendor meetings, providing POVs on measurement solutions, and supervising campaign setup and optimization.
Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client demands.
- Knowledge of the programmatic industry, including pros and cons of key platforms and understanding of inventory sources (exchange, PMP, Deal, Programmatic Guaranteed).
- Understanding of key attributes, value, and capabilities of major DSPs (e.g., DV360, The Trade Desk, Xandr, Amazon).
- Ability to rationalize and explain decisions with supportive logic and data, employing evidence-based planning and strategy.
- Ability to navigate ad-server and ad-verification platforms and pull reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for problem-solving and digital media.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability using Excel, including pivot tables, basic formulas, and visualizations.
