About the Role
We’re looking for a Disrepair Specialist Support Officer to join our Housing Assets & Repairs service. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day progression of disrepair claims and associated works, acting as a central link between residents, the Disrepair Team, contractors, our repairs partner and other Housing services.
Responsibilities
- Progress disrepair claims and collate information required under the Disrepair Protocol.
- Monitor open works orders and ensure inspections and resulting actions are followed through.
- Identify and progress repairs presenting serious hazards within required legislative timescales, supporting our operational response to Awaab’s Law.
- Work with residents, contractors and operational teams to resolve outstanding repairs and property issues.
- Respond to complaints and negative feedback and help resolve quality concerns.
- Identify delays, trends and issues requiring escalation or service improvement.
Requirements
- Property maintenance experience, preferably gained within housing or a similar property environment.
- Experience of property inspection, common property defects and working with repairs, maintenance or construction contractors.
- Experience of progressing property or repair issues through to resolution, following up outstanding works and actions.
- Ability to work with others to get issues resolved.
- Understanding of the requirements of Awaab’s Law and the importance of recognising potential hazards.
- Ability to act within statutory and service timescales and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to review information, identify next steps, and ensure inspections, works and other actions are progressed.
- Strong customer service, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work sensitively with residents where issues may be complex or unresolved.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
