About the Role
Lead the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a growing renewable energy portfolio, ensuring high standards of health and safety, operational performance, and compliance across solar, storage, and private wire assets.
Responsibilities
- Lead the safe and efficient operation of solar, battery storage, and private wire assets.
- Ensure high standards of health and safety, operational performance, and compliance.
- Set long-term operational strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage significant operational budgets.
- Support the growth of a diverse renewable energy portfolio.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a team to create a high-performing, collaborative, and safety-focused culture.
- Manage the safe and efficient delivery of operations and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with asset management, engineering, and technical teams to optimize asset performance.
- Manage relationships with O&M providers, contractors, OEMs, and network operators.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and manage operational and maintenance budgets.
- Lead audits, inspections, and improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
- Support the development and implementation of operational strategies and procedures.
- Manage asset-specific projects and major maintenance campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Requirements
- An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and industry standards.
- A degree in engineering or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Proven experience in operation and maintenance, including delivering operational performance improvements.
- Experience in High Voltage and Low Voltage operating procedures and safety rules, or equivalent industry standards.
- Experience managing contracts, operational budgets, and cost control activities.
- Experience leading teams, including setting objectives and managing performance.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel throughout the UK as required.
