About the Role
Support SOS MEDITERRANEE Deutschland in the field of communication as an intern, contributing to life-saving work for sea rescuers in the central Mediterranean.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and prepare information on current developments in politics, civil society, and Search and Rescue (SAR).
- Support political communication efforts.
- Assist in creating website content and internal information documents.
- Conduct weekly press monitoring.
- Translate articles and informational materials from other country organizations into German.
- Conceptualize and create social media content.
- Provide administrative support.
- Offer general assistance during special events, campaigns, or periods of increased workload.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies, Communication and Media Studies, or similar, with a demonstrable mandatory internship.
- Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy.
- Very good research and analytical skills, with experience in text production.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience working with social media.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both spoken and written.
- Identification with the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE in its European dimension.
- Knowledge in the areas of sea rescue, maritime and international law, migration issues, the Mediterranean context, and graphic design is advantageous.
- The internship must be completed as a mandatory internship within the scope of a study program.
