About the Role

Support outreach, marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement efforts across clean energy, affordable housing, workforce development, and community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of marketing, communications, and outreach materials for KC3 programs, events, and initiatives.
• Draft content for newsletters, email campaigns, social media posts, presentations, and other communications channels.
• Help translate clean energy, sustainability, and community engagement topics into clear, accessible, and engaging content for a variety of audiences.
• Support the development and execution of communications strategies that increase awareness of KC3’s projects, services, and impact.
• Create and update visual content using Canva and other graphic design tools, including flyers, infographics, newsletters, social media graphics, and event materials.
• Support promotion of community events, workshops, webinars, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Participate in events, meetings, and outreach activities as appropriate, supporting communications, logistics, and follow-up efforts.
• Help maintain KC3 marketing templates, branding standards, and communications resources.
• Conduct research on marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, and clean energy industry trends to support organizational initiatives.
• Collaborate with staff across multiple teams and disciplines to support project goals and communications efforts.
• Participate in mentorship, training, team meetings, and other professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, journalism, digital media, advertising, business, or a related field.
• Local to the New York City metropolitan area and able to attend occasional in-person meetings, events, and activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Experience with Canva or similar graphic design platforms.
• Commitment to racial equity, housing justice, economic mobility, environmental justice, and community-centered approaches to problem solving.
