About the Role
Responsible for the delivery of clean linen items and scrubs to distribution points throughout the hospital. Inspects linen closets for quantities and delivers appropriate par levels. Replenishes scrub machines as needed. Consolidates linen trucks and stores linen in the clean linen room. Properly utilizes hand-held data collection devices for restocking of linen closets.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all clean linen is weighed in upon delivery and immediately taken to the authorized clean linen storage room.
- Perform other duties as assigned in a manner consistent with departmental Customer Service Standards.
- Inspect all delivered linen for stains, smells, and other defects.
- Deliver scrubs to dispensing machines and pick up soiled scrubs, bringing them to the bulk soiled linen collection room.
- Consolidate carts in the clean linen bulk storage room, take empty bins to the soiled chute room, download data, and maintain an organized room.
- Transport clean linen to distribution points, take inventory using a hand-held device, and restock units with appropriate levels of linen.
- Transport certain hazardous/universal wastes from designated hospital locations to the main hospital accumulation area.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
