About the Role

As a Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services, your exceptional customer service and attention to detail and guidance ensures the quality, timely and accurate distribution of meals to Rochester Regional patients, while creating a positive and satisfying experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise tray assembly and Room Service items, checking quality and accuracy while maintaining predetermined schedules.
Demonstrate positive leadership in tray service, ensuring proper patient service according to predetermined policies.
Routinely supervise kitchen, dish room, cafeteria, and cold food prep, including schedules, tray line, and set up.
Enforce hospital and departmental policies and procedures; initiate counseling and disciplinary actions, and make disciplinary recommendations to the Director.
Maintain the highest level of customer service as outlined by department and RGHS standards.
Supervise special nourishments, checking accuracy and quality according to predetermined policies.
Coordinate set up of the tray line and other kitchen functions for the next meal, including ordering sufficient supplies and changing services to accommodate out-of-stocks.
Conduct patient/resident visitations and follow up on complaints, checking for acceptability of service, quality, and quantity of food.
Follow all departmental HAACP procedures, including logging all temperatures.
Supervise and implement the New York State Sanitation Code, Chapter 1, Part 14.
Act as department representative in opening and closing the kitchen at scheduled times.
Train and develop employees and perform evaluations with direction from Managers.
Participate in the planning of in-service and follow up on staff attendance.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Serve Save Certification required within 3-6 months of hire.
Friendly, kind, and patient-focused.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent ability to guide and support team members.
Two year college degree or 4 years equivalent work experience.
Two-year college degree (or) three-years relatable experience.
American National Standards Institute accredited Food Safety Certification required within 6 months (i.e. ServSafe, NRFSP).
Frequent standing or walking and minimal lifting (typically under 20 lbs).
Clear vision and hearing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle interruptions, and exercise independent judgment.
