About the Role
HB Public Law is seeking a Lawyer or Senior Disrepair Lawyer for its Housing and Civil Litigation Team. This role offers the chance to manage a diverse caseload impacting local communities across four local authorities, with opportunities for advocacy and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims, providing practical, solution-focused advice.
- Collaborate with officers and senior management across client authorities.
- Undertake advocacy as appropriate.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues (depending on experience).
- Contribute to training initiatives and help develop best practice.
- Support the team with a wide range of housing and civil litigation work on occasion.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) with litigation practising rights, or nearing qualification.
- Experience in housing disrepair.
- Ability to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice.
- Proficiency in managing own caseload and prioritizing competing demands.
- Strong communication and client care skills.
- Experience in local authority housing law, housing association law, private practice housing litigation, or civil litigation with an interest in housing law.
