About the Role

As an Assistant Merchandiser at White Stuff, you will support the Merchandiser to plan and trade concessions, thinking commercially and innovatively to maximize sales and profit while minimizing markdown.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Merchandiser in developing seasonal strategy by concession, reflecting company strategy and maximizing department profit performance.
  • Review concession weekly budgets under the guidance of the Merchandiser.
  • Support the Merchandiser in planning options for each concession, both online and in stores.
  • Manage the allocation of the right stock at the right time to each concession and store.
  • Collate and produce weekly trade analysis for each concession to support maximum profit delivery for the season.
  • Conduct fortnightly trade catch-ups with each concession to maintain strong relationships, manage the critical path, and monitor ranking across brands, suggesting improvements.
  • Update the merchandising team and wider leadership team on concession lessons learned that could improve sales across other channels.
  • Manage stock by channel to drive sell-through and profit.
  • Manage the despatch forecast with the DC team and each concession.
  • Manage daily despatch alongside the operations team to ensure lines are enriched and compliance across concessions.
  • Manage promotions with concessions.
  • Manage the enrichment critical path alongside the operations team.
  • Support the Merchandiser with a weekly update to the leadership team regarding concessions trade.

Requirements

  • Currently working as an Assistant Merchandiser or a Senior MAA, ideally within the retail industry.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness with an understanding of consumer trends and competitors.
  • Ability to proactively manage workload, prioritizing and delegating when necessary.
  • Communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely both in writing and verbally.
  • Good ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong team working skills, able to build positive cross-functional relationships.
  • Initiative and good decision-making skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Excel (intermediate to advanced).
