About the Role
ABM is seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operation of a commercial facility in Bastrop, Texas. The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, responding to work orders, assisting with facility improvements, and helping ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for employees and visitors. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working in a dynamic facility environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of facility systems, equipment, and common areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on building systems and components.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, doors, fixtures, and other facility assets.
- Assist with office furniture moves, setups, and equipment installations.
- Perform painting touch-ups and other light maintenance duties as needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls.
- Prioritize and complete assigned work orders while maintaining accurate records of completed work.
- Communicate project progress and maintenance updates to facility leadership.
- Escalate unresolved issues or specialized repair needs as appropriate.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and report hazards or compliance concerns.
- Maintain a safe work environment and support regulatory compliance efforts.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with applicable safety standards.
- Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with ordering materials and supplies necessary to support facility operations.
- Ensure tools and equipment remain in safe, working condition.
- Collaborate with facility management, contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Assist with facility improvement projects, renovations, and construction-related activities.
- Provide support for special projects and facility events as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to frequently walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
