About the Role
The Site Lead is responsible for ensuring a secure working environment, managing site operations, providing commercial support, and overseeing safety and compliance within the data center facilities. This role also involves administrative tasks, personnel management, leading emergency response, and managing the Network Operations Center (NOC) to ensure secure and sustainable operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a secure working environment for all employees at our locations (regarding methods, procedures, and resources).
- Prepare and issue permits to work (PTWs) to ensure safe working during projects.
- Ensure operational emergency plans are up-to-date and tested at least annually.
- Ensure order and cleanliness at the locations.
- Separate waste disposal and recycling where possible.
- Ensure all signage complies with corporate identity.
- Ensure good air management in the data rooms.
- Monitor monthly quality assurance inspection rounds.
- Create operational offers in coordination with local facility colleagues.
- Conduct site tours for potential customers as needed.
- Collaborate with sales on customer visits at the site.
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect data center assets and customer hardware.
- Ensure a high level of knowledge and awareness among security staff (including training remote hands).
- Ensure the creation and execution of security shift reports and inspections according to agreements.
- Monitor the correct and precise administration of operational IT systems (capacity, cabling, tickets).
- Ensure correct and timely processing of incidents.
- Implement customer projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical leadership for Operations Engineers and Technical Facility Engineers.
- Actively address security aspects (e.g., security certificate and installation responsibility) as they may arise in the operational field and initiate appropriate measures if necessary.
- Foster a cooperative and positive work environment.
- Act as the emergency manager for their site and take the lead in the event of an evacuation.
- Ensure all team members register for and participate in annual emergency training.
- Take responsibility for the Network Operations Center (NOC) with all relevant processes, staff, and technologies to ensure the secure operation, sustainability, and safety of all data centers connected to the NOC.
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Expertise and experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), cabling, and connectivity.
- Proven leadership skills and persuasiveness.
- Fluent language skills in German and English.
