About the Role

As an Evening Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for the inspection, repairs, and maintenance of a variety of hotel systems and equipment. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize, report, and correct potential safety hazards and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
  • Complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile floor maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete painting, minor roof repairs, and other exterior projects.
  • Complete pool and exercise room equipment repairs if necessary.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs.
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
  • Work with Chief Engineer and Management team to identify and accomplish all technical and skilled related projects.
  • Prepare all necessary reports during each shift for the management team.
  • Report to Hotel in bad weather conditions for maintenance of Hotel's exterior (snow shoveling, ice melting, etc.).

Requirements

  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations.
  • Ability to complete work orders on a timely basis.
  • Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations on short notice.
  • Responsible for knowing Hotel emergency procedures.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors.
  • Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.

Work Type

  • Evening shift
  • Weekends are a must
  • Schedule is Friday through Tuesday, 3pm-11pm
