About the Role

The City of Sydney is seeking a Finance Business Partner with strong commercial acumen to transform financial data into meaningful insights that drive better outcomes for our city and community. In this role, you will support strategic decision-making by providing trusted financial advice, influencing key initiatives, and helping deliver services and projects that enhance Sydney's sustainability, liveability, and prosperity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Develop robust financial models.
  • Evaluate strategic investment opportunities.
  • Provide commercial insights for business cases and major projects.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations.

Requirements

  • CPA, CA, or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • Extensive experience in finance business partnering across a broad range of stakeholders and operational areas.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision-making.
