About the Role
As a Supermarket Assistant Branch Cook, you will work in the back-of-house kitchen of a shop, providing hot and cold food for Partners during break times. You will also support the wider shop floor team as a Supermarket Assistant, providing distinct service and passion for food. Any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen with support from the management team.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe kitchen environment.
- Ensure portion control, preparation, and storage methods to avoid food wastage.
- Adhere to high food hygiene standards.
- Replenish stock to ensure shelves remain full and products are in the right place.
- Fulfill online customer orders for delivery drivers.
- Reduce wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns.
- Support the wider shop team with tasks including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, and fulfilling on-demand customer orders.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
Requirements
- Experience of working as a cook in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Passionate about food and serving a varied and nutritious menu.
- Customer-focused with the ability to engage partners with the food on offer.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, driving sales within the partner dining room, whilst also controlling costs and wastage.
- Flexible and adaptable to work between kitchen and shop floor as required.
