About the Role
The Vice President, Finance Business Partner -- Payment Networks at Mastercard will be a senior finance leader and strategic business partner in the Payment Networks Organization, providing leadership across business strategy, growth priorities, financial planning, performance management, investment prioritization, and decision support. This VP will lead a finance team within Payment Networks responsible for real time payments (RTP) – across international markets and RTP global products and engineering -- requiring effective business partnering and translating business, product, engineering, and regulatory requirements into financial insights, actionable plans, and executive-ready recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Lead Finance Business Partner agenda for Payment Networks, RTP (ex-Uk) as a senior finance advisor to product, engineering and business leaders
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across revenues, expenses, investments, personnel, vendor spend, and macroeconomic drivers, ensuring plans are grounded in business drivers, strategic priorities, and financial targets
- Own executive-level financial performance management, including month-end and quarter-end close review, forecast variance analysis, risks and opportunities, operating reviews, corporate reporting deliverables, and leadership narratives
- Set the finance strategy and operating cadence for the organization, including KPIs, financial frameworks, reporting routines, governance forums, resource allocation, and decision support standards
- Partner with senior business leaders to evaluate new products, partnerships, strategic investments, business cases, pricing, vendor negotiations, partner economics, operating model options, and return expectations
- Proactively manage financial, operational, control, reporting, close, execution, regulatory, and market risks across the portfolio; develop mitigation plans and escalate key issues as needed
- Develop and present executive-ready materials, including operating reviews, leadership updates, steering committee materials, finance readiness assessments, decision papers, performance narratives, and ad hoc strategic analysis
- Identify and lead process improvement opportunities that strengthen financial discipline, enhance forecast accuracy, improve decision support, and increase operating efficiency
- Lead, coach, and develop a finance team. Set priorities, ensure ownership, and foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skills including superior organization, planning, and follow through.
- Able to foster a positive team environment and collaborate to produce outstanding results
- Able to work independently, prioritize effectively and drive process improvement initiatives
- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines
Skills
- Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance and accounting
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and experience with financial systems/applications (e.g., Hyperion and Oracle) preferred
