About the Role
Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) is a global function responsible for making credit and fraud risk decisions that uphold operational excellence, drive growth, and accelerate innovation. CFR utilizes technology, infrastructure, and new computing techniques for better risk decisions and real-time customer communications.
Responsibilities
- Develop New Account Acquisition Personalization strategies and overall journey customer experience to drive profitable growth and improve investment efficiency.
- Drive data insights to inform strategy decisions regarding acquisition quality, model performance, and portfolio impact.
- Enhance and monitor Bank-Based Underwriting (BBUW) strategies to drive profitable growth and maintain industry-best credit results in new account acquisitions.
- Track external acquisition journey developments to understand industry best practices.
- Influence Marketing and Product partner strategies to ensure personalization decision consistency, enhance top-of-funnel traffic, and improve applicant quality.
- Manage partnerships with Marketing, Product, Risk Products and Data Strategy, Decision Science, New Accounts Servicing, Fraud, and CBO teams to enable enterprise-wide innovations.
Requirements
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
- Strong collaborative/interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment with strong attention to detail.
- Project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in leading multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in underwriting or another core credit risk management function.
- Deep understanding of credit card economics and the payments industry.
- Externally focused and aware of the latest technology and market trends in payment, credit trends, credit behavior, and external development in the lending industry.
