About the Role
The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) seeks a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Deputy Commissioner of Access and Engagement. This role is responsible for overseeing the agency’s portfolio of programs that support New York City’s creative workforce and industries, acting as a primary liaison between MOME and the creative workforce community.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Programs Team, including setting priorities, overseeing performance, and supporting staff development
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of workforce development programs, events, and grant initiatives
- Develop and standardize KPIs across programs to enable cross-program comparison and strategic decision-making
- Analyze program outcomes and producing recommendations to inform budget allocations and program improvements
- Serve as MOME’s primary point of contact for creative workforce stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships across the ecosystem
- Identify gaps in workforce support and design innovative solutions to address industry needs
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance MOME’s workforce strategy
- Develop proactive policies to support the creative workforce
- Oversee special projects and initiatives as assigned
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory full-time experience related to projects and policies required by the particular position
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above requirement
