About the Role
The Emergency Preparedness Data Analytics Coordinator will oversee strategic planning and data-driven decision-making for public health disasters and emergency preparedness events. This role involves close collaboration with leadership and subject matter experts to support and coordinate emergency preparedness activities, conduct risk assessments, and develop data-informed emergency plans and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret data to understand the scope, impact, and implications of emergencies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response activities and recommend improvements.
- Create and update emergency response plans, procedures, and disaster plans based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and/or update plans, protocols, and procedures, as well as emergency preparedness trainings.
- Enhance processes and systems to bolster staffing depth and create sustainable staffing models.
- Identify and resolve gaps and implement improvements identified in emergency response evaluations.
- Assess impacts on Division’s programs and services during and after emergencies.
- Align with OEPR, ICS Coordinators, and COOP Coordinators across ICS and COOP functions.
- Participate in emergency response group meetings and activities, including planning, training, exercises, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain the Schools & Family emergency response group, including charter, organizational chart, leadership roster, staffing list, and training.
- Develop plans and processes to support public schools, childcare, early intervention settings, universities, families, children, and pregnant people by leveraging community and city agency partnerships.
- Provide support, guidance, and consultation for the Department of Education and other city agencies.
- Advocate for families, children, and school staff in public health emergencies by gathering and integrating preparedness data from multiple sources.
Requirements
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental science or public health.
- A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization.
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to a doctorate degree with one year of experience or a master's degree with three years of experience.
- All candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience.
- Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required.
