About the Role
The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking two Planners to join the Dining Out NYC (DONYC) team. This program, initially launched during COVID-19, has been transformed into a permanent, safe, and accessible outdoor dining initiative, now including year-round roadway dining.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate planning and policy with various DOT units and City agencies.
- Review siting submissions from food service establishment owners.
- Conduct site visits to assist with site plan development and ensure design standards are met.
- Prepare agreements for participating establishments.
- Conduct studies, prepare reports, and make recommendations on policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described.
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above.
- At least one year of experience as described in the first qualification.
