About the Role
The Office of Cityscape & Franchises is expanding its concession program and seeks two City Planners to assist with planning, coordination, and management of various streetscape elements, including plazas, open streets, and public toilets.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and management of concessions.
- Support the unit Director with contract management.
- Manage programs related to public toilet installations and franchises.
- Coordinate and develop the unit’s tracking database project.
- Perform electronic file and database management.
- Conduct community outreach.
- Prepare submissions to the Public Design Commission.
- Present to Community Boards.
- Communicate and coordinate with Business Improvement Districts, not-for-profit entities, private entities, and senior staff.
Requirements
- Must be serving permanently in the title of City Planner, or be reachable on the City Planner Civil Service list.
- A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or a related field.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning.
- A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a master's degree.
- Graduate education in relevant fields may substitute for experience on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits for one year of experience.
- All candidates must have a baccalaureate degree.
- To be eligible for Assignment Level III, individuals must have two additional years of professional experience after meeting the minimum requirements.
