About the Role
The Department of Social Services (DSS) Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking an IT Project Specialist to function as a Senior Business Architect. This role supports the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of HRA and DHS by overseeing complex projects, gathering requirements, and ensuring business systems adhere to regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, plan, manage and coordinate complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Define project scope, create/update project plans and work breakdown structures.
- Schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
- Identify and manage IT project risks.
- Determine resource needs and obtain sign off on project deliverables.
- Lead requirement gathering and analyze procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Business solution Applications portfolio.
- Schedule meetings for project status, testing (Development, QA, UAT), and Release and Implementation planning.
- Advise and serve as an SME in SDLC from start to end.
- Prepare technical/administrative recommendations for executive management.
- Inform and influence decision making regarding upstream and downstream impacts of Benefit Issuance Systems modifications and enhancements.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above degree and experience requirements.
