About the Role
ALBA BERLIN is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team at the Albert-Gutzmann-Schule starting January 1, 2027. This role focuses on school social work, providing support to students, developing preventative measures, and collaborating with various institutions to foster a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Recognize signs of school disengagement and intervene early, developing and implementing preventative measures against school avoidance.
- Provide individual support to students in challenging life situations and conduct counseling sessions with children, parents, and teachers.
- Develop and implement projects to promote social skills and integration, organize workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, resilience, and self-assertion, and create open offerings for individual student development.
- Collaborate with youth welfare offices, counseling centers, therapeutic facilities, and other relevant institutions, participate in interdisciplinary network meetings, and contribute to school committees and steering groups.
- Record and evaluate implemented measures for quality assurance, create reports and documentation for school social work, and participate in school committees and steering groups.
Requirements
- Social education degree (B.A. or Diploma) or comparable qualification.
- Professional experience in school social work at primary schools in socially challenging environments, ideally in Berlin.
- iseF further training desirable.
- Sound pedagogical expertise and knowledge in working with the concepts of open all-day primary schools, including municipal contexts and structures, as well as SGB VIII.
- Confident demeanor and high cooperation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- High degree of responsibility, loyalty, and self-organization.
- Interest in a long-term perspective at ALBA BERLIN.
- A current extended certificate of good conduct is required for successful employment.
