About the Role

Amazon in Belgium is seeking a self-motivated and creative individual to support with Consumer communications. This role will report to the Head of Communications for Belgium and lead proactive campaigns across Amazon.com.be product categories for deal events and future product launches. The successful candidate will have expertise in media relations, social media, influencer relations, and leadership experience, with an entrepreneurial and goal-oriented approach. Experience in corporate reputation, crisis, and issues management is also required for effective collaboration. This role requires a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all strategic PR plans for core retail areas covering consumer campaigns, news generation, and product placement.
  • Manage key retail events by building cross-category campaigns.
  • Support strategic launches around new shopping innovations.
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges.
  • Act as a business partner to Amazon retail category leadership teams.
  • Write strategic plans, messaging, and press releases; pitch and secure top media coverage.
  • Build excellent relationships with key media contacts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to drive successful program launches.
  • Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal executives on short and long-term challenges and opportunities.
  • Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson.
  • Manage reactive media inquiries.
  • Work closely with the International Stores & Corporate Communications teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience in professional communications or public relations.
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English.
  • Fluency in French and/or Flemish.
  • Demonstrated expertise in media relations, social media, and influencer relations.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Entrepreneurial and goal-oriented approach.
  • Experience in corporate reputation, crisis, and issues management.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up culture.
  • Consumer PR expert with a strong contact book with Belgian lifestyle and consumer media.
  • Strategic and creative approach to ensure PR activity delivers against business objectives.
  • Tactically aware of media and site activities to maximize PR benefit.
  • Proactive and enjoys taking responsibility.
  • Organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while managing administrative work.
