About the Role

We're looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition to own how Carwow attracts, hires, and builds the teams that will drive our growth. This leadership role involves full ownership of the talent acquisition function, partnering directly with senior stakeholders to understand and deliver their team's growth needs, and ensuring DEI is integrated into our hiring practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to understand talent needs and translate them into hiring plans.
  • Lead and influence senior and business-critical searches, including Exec-level hiring.
  • Raise the calibre of talent by implementing consistent scorecards, structured interview processes, and quality-of-hire tracking.
  • Build talent intelligence capability to map critical and emerging skill pools ahead of need.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing talent acquisition team.
  • Own the integration of AI across sourcing, process, and productivity in talent acquisition.
  • Own employer brand and candidate experience in partnership with the Employee Experience team.
  • Implement and embed DEI strategy within talent acquisition, ensuring inclusive hiring practices.
  • Upskill hiring managers on effective hiring practices.
  • Take on projects beyond the core remit as part of the wider leadership team's priorities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a talent acquisition function in a fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environment, ideally including significant periods of organisational change.
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing talent teams, with strong people management and coaching skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior leadership and translating business needs into talent plans.
  • A data-driven approach, comfortable building and using dashboards and metrics to drive decisions.
  • Confident, expert-level knowledge of AI tools and their application to talent acquisition.
  • Hands-on experience implementing DEI strategy within hiring, with a track record of embedding inclusive practices.
  • Experience owning senior, business-critical, or Exec-level searches.
  • Experience owning employer brand and candidate experience, partnering with People/Employee Experience functions.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with evolving structures and shifting priorities.
