About the Role
This role supports negotiations for various deals within the entertainment industry, working closely with legal affairs to finalize agreements and address production issues. The successful candidate will leverage negotiation skills, interact with industry professionals, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Apply working knowledge of film and television industry agreements, guild regulations, contract law, and intellectual property rights to support drafting, negotiating, and communicating with external partners.
- In collaboration with senior executives, negotiate deal terms for production companies, IP, and above-the-line talent to achieve business objectives.
- Communicate effectively across internal teams (Creative, Production, Marketing, Finance, Legal) and with external stakeholders.
- Manage high-volume workloads efficiently across a global organization and multiple time zones.
- Advise executives and build strong relationships through clear risk analysis and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Negotiate and/or manage negotiations of commercial deal terms with and for production companies, producers, IP rights, format rights, ATL including writers, directors, on-screen talent, and other related deals.
- Interact with managers, agents, managing directors, and outside attorneys.
- Apply comprehensive working knowledge of film and TV industry business models, development, and production methodologies.
- Support a varied, high-volume workload efficiently and smoothly, operate within corporate parameters, and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and across Amazon, build strong internal client relationships, effectively advise senior-level executives, and generate client satisfaction through clear thinking and risk analysis.
Requirements
- Experience in entertainment industry deal negotiation
- Experience in a studio, production company, or television network
- Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts and drafting
- Ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience in negotiating complex agreements with an understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 1 year PQE
