About the Role
As a Stock Condition and Energy Surveyor, you will help ensure customers live in safe, warm, and energy-efficient homes by carrying out stock condition surveys and energy assessments. Your work will provide accurate data and insight to inform future investment decisions, prioritize improvements, maintain high-quality homes, meet the Decent Homes Standard, and support the commitment to delivering safe, sustainable homes.
Responsibilities
- Carry out stock condition surveys and energy assessments across homes, providing insight into property performance and future investment needs.
- Identify and record HHSRS hazards and areas below the Decent Homes Standard.
- Contribute to a collaborative and continuous improvement culture by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
- Maintain professional expertise through ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Requirements
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
- A Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Knowledge of stock condition surveying within the social housing sector, including the Decent Homes Standard, regulatory requirements, and energy performance legislation.
- Experience carrying out stock condition surveys, HHSRS assessments, and energy inspections within a housing environment.
- Confidence in managing energy assessment processes, certification requirements, and associated systems.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret, validate, and work with asset and stock data.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and asset management systems.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- An HNC/D in a relevant building industry qualification (desirable).
- Experience producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for domestic properties (desirable).
