About the Role
Pulse is seeking an experienced Band 7 Hospital & Prescribing Pharmacist for a leading UK teaching hospital in Birmingham. This role involves providing specialist pharmaceutical care, supporting safe prescribing, and optimizing medicines management to improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services across designated wards and departments.
- Support safe and effective prescribing practices throughout the hospital.
- Undertake medicines reconciliation and clinical medication reviews.
- Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Promote medicines optimisation and support the safe use of medicines.
- Contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care initiatives.
- Participate in clinical audits, governance activities, and service improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation.
Requirements
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Previous NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
- Experience working at Band 7 level or equivalent.
- Strong clinical knowledge and prescribing support experience.
- Experience undertaking clinical medication reviews and medicines reconciliation.
- Confident working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
