About the Role
The Finance Improvement Specialist will critically assess current systems and processes to identify enhancement opportunities. This role supports group and site expectations for usability, accuracy, and reliability of workflows for monthly finance transactions and reporting, with a focus on continuous improvement and process excellence across all business streams.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, workflows, and controls enabled by systems.
- Identify ways of making cost savings and improving business financial performance.
- Partner with finance stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Document current and future-state processes, system changes, and business rules.
- Support and enhance Power BI dashboards and finance reporting solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with finance, IT, vendors, and external partners.
- Ensure system and process changes maintain appropriate financial controls, auditability, and compliance.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned across the team.
Requirements
- Background in systems accounting or current Analyst role within a finance team with a continuous improvement remit.
- Comfort level with stakeholders at all levels of business.
- Strong financial process knowledge (close cycle, reconciliations, reporting, AP/AR, FP&A).
- Proficiency with Lean Six Sigma methodology.
- Proficiency with open database connectivity (ODBC).
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Pronto, Oracle, SAP and NetSuite.
- Proactivity, initiative, and a prescriptive mindset.
- Ability to manage work across differing time zones.
- Willingness to travel to mine sites as required.
