Responsibilities
- Execute electrical designs in accordance with Engineering Procedures and Standards and specific client standards.
- Collaborate with Manager, Sr. Principal, Project Managers, and Electrical Team Leader to plan work and balance deliverables with budgets.
- Maintain understanding of project schedule, status, and technical issues.
- Review all designs with supervisor and Department Head prior to client submission.
- Lead technical teams and deliver designs for various clients.
- Provide support to assigned staff on technical and administrative issues.
- Maintain strong understanding of all associated Codes and Standards and ensure compliance in all Team activities.
- Continuously improve the Team’s deliverable quality, communications, attitude, and efficiency.
- Design power distribution, lighting, and emergency/standby power supply in accordance with applicable NEC codes and standards.
- Develop and evaluate engineering solutions for projects across various markets.
- Work as part of a project team to produce engineering solutions for large-scale and complex building projects.
- Corroborate/coordinate with other design team members (architect, mechanical, structural engineers) to ensure electrical systems integrate with project goals.
- Manage budgets and scope of work.
- Perform Construction Administration tasks including field visits, issuing field reports, responding to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings.
- Perform studies associated with conceptual designs, including site surveys, system sizing, and defining space for electrical equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Actively manage technical tasks and project efforts within the Electrical Team, balancing deliverables, company expectations, and budget.
Requirements
- Proficient in computer use and software including AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Navisworks.
- Possess communication skills sufficient to work directly with directors, managers, and customers.
- Background in engineering design of electrical systems and distribution components.
- Ability to use good judgment and make decisions with authority.
