About the Role
Cancer Research UK is seeking a motivating Store Manager to join their trading team. The role involves acting as an ambassador, inspiring the team to maximize sales and fundraising opportunities in a high-profile location near the River Thames. This store is situated in a vibrant community hub, offering opportunities to connect people with the charity's mission and the impact of their support.
Responsibilities
- Guiding, inspiring, and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development.
- Taking ownership of the commercial running of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management, shop standards, layout, sales, and income.
- Leading by example and providing excellent customer and supporter service.
- Maximizing profit through effective cost control and sales.
- Creating relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
- Organizing and running creative fundraising events to achieve targets.
- Maintaining compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies.
- Performing manual handling and physical activity as part of daily duties.
Requirements
- Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team.
- Comfort working within targets and motivating others to achieve them.
- Ability to multitask in a lively environment.
- Working knowledge of excellent customer service.
- Commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of high street fashion retail.
- Adaptability in changing situations and ability to work effectively independently.
- Awareness of the price, value, and worth of items.
- Flexibility to work on a rota basis.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
