About the Role
As an experienced Remote Pilot at Skyports, you will operate advanced drone systems for services like delivery, surveying, and surveillance. Your expertise in remote piloting, adherence to regulations, and commitment to safety will ensure successful mission execution. You will collaborate with teams, develop operational procedures, and provide insights from post-flight analysis.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and fly advanced drone systems, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, company guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Conduct Job Safety Assessments and job-specific risk assessments, obtaining authorizations before each mission.
- Perform thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure optimal equipment and drone system condition.
- Ensure aircraft serviceability and quarantine unserviceable equipment.
- Execute missions with precision, capturing high-quality data for surveying, surveillance, or delivering packages securely and on time.
- Assist with flight safety awareness, continuously promoting a safety culture.
- Perform post-flight analysis, contribute to mission reports, and provide insights for improvement.
- Update flying logs within 24 hours of flying operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on drone systems, including pre-flight checks, battery management, and equipment calibration.
- Maintain currency and competency on UAS platform types through ongoing training and self-directed learning.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Skyports, promoting values, safety culture, and commitment to excellence.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Remote Pilot with flight logs.
- Hold a valid Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) Multi-rotor, up to 25kgs.
- Hold a valid Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate or higher (AROC).
- Have passed the Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) outside of controlled airspace exam.
- Demonstrated experience in remote piloting, preferably in drone delivery, survey, or surveillance operations.
- Proficiency in utilising drone flight control software and operating drone payloads effectively.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety protocols and the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
- Hold a valid drivers licence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in dynamic situations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally for up to 8 weeks at a time.
