About the Role
The Junior HR Generalist supports the HR function at BSBI by combining strong operational HR delivery with a developing business partnering mindset. The role ensures efficient and compliant HR processes while acting as a reliable first point of contact for employees and managers across BSBI locations in Berlin, Hamburg, Madrid, Barcelona, Athens and Paris.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day HR administration and people operations for Berlin and Hamburg, with support across European entities.
- Maintain HRS Personio and ensure accurate data management across the employee lifecycle.
- Support time and absence management, including coordination with managers and payroll.
- Handle communication with health insurance providers and social security institutions in standard HR matters.
- Coordinate and execute onboarding processes, including pre-boarding, contract preparation and first-day readiness across Berlin and Hamburg, as well as in coordination with European locations.
- Ensure smooth administrative processes from entry to exit (e.g. contract changes, offboarding documentation).
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records throughout the lifecycle.
- Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers across Berlin, Hamburg and selected European locations on operational HR topics.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, processes and best practices with a solution-oriented approach.
- Support managers in day-to-day people matters, escalating complex cases where needed.
- Build an understanding of business needs to gradually contribute to more proactive HR support.
- Support and take ownership of assigned HR projects, including cross-location and international projects.
- Contribute to improving HR processes with a focus on efficiency, scalability and user experience.
- Document processes and support communication of changes to stakeholders.
- Prepare regular HR reports ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support compliance with labour law requirements and internal HR policies, coordinating with local experts where required.
- Assist in audits and ensure proper documentation standards are maintained.
- Support international employees with administrative aspects of visa and relocation processes.
- Provide basic guidance on German employment regulations and coordinate with local HR/payroll/legal partners for other European countries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or completed vocational training in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- First professional experience in HR, ideally in an international or fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of German labour law and social security regulations.
- Experience working with HR systems (e.g. Personio) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

- Motivation to learn, grow and develop towards a broader HR Business Partner role.
- Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
- Additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
