About the Role
This role involves leading oversight and technical guidance for project engineering solutions, focusing on mechanical and plumbing systems in commercial/industrial buildings. You will collaborate with design teams, clients, and engineers to ensure integrated project goals. The position also includes leading the design, oversight, and execution of HVAC, plumbing, and process piping for infrastructure, along with developing system reliability plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead oversight and technical guidance of project engineering solutions for mechanical and plumbing systems in commercial/industrial buildings.
- Corroborate and coordinate with other design team members, including clients and site/civil and electrical engineers, to ensure systems are integrated with project goals.
- Lead the design, design oversight, and execution of HVAC, plumbing & process piping for infrastructure.
- Develop and coordinate system reliability plans through assessments, design review, and power system studies.
- Develop detailed engineering designs for systems, including the review/selection and specification of air handlers, exhaust fans, compressors, vacuum pumps, & plumbing fixtures.
- Review and design in-house and outside consultant work.
- Execute mechanical designs in accordance with company and client standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of applicable Codes and Standards.
- Implement value engineering and buildability improvements to enhance building performance.
- Provide feasibility studies, detailed designs, and commissioning support for major infrastructure.
- Conduct high-quality technical reviews and produce outputs including layouts, specifications, datasheets, and P&IDs.
- Perform equipment sizing and specification for pumps, blowers, valves, screening, dosing, and odor control systems.
- Conduct site investigations and engage with internal contractors and suppliers.
- Integrate constructability and commissioning into design solutions early in the process.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience designing electrical systems in high-performance facilities.
- Proficient in computer use and software including AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, and Navisworks.
- Communication skills sufficient to work directly with directors, managers, and customers, requiring professionalism.
- Background in engineering design of electrical systems and distribution components.
- Ability to use good judgment and make decisions with authority.
