About the Role
The Investment Bank's Global Banking department is seeking a proactive individual to support strategic initiatives, drive front-to-back controls, manage transaction pipelines, oversee approval processes and expense management, and ensure policy adherence. The role focuses on leveraging data, automation, and AI to enhance business processes and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Assist the ANZ Global Banking business in developing and executing strategic initiatives.
- Drive front-to-back controls, identifying and addressing gaps in collaboration with control functions and the IB COO Global Banking team, with a focus on capital markets.
- Manage transaction pipeline reporting and revenue forecasting.
- Manage key Global Banking transaction approval processes.
- Oversee monthly expense processes, including AMEX.
- Responsible for key monthly business update submissions.
- Ensure policies are adhered to, reviewed, and challenged in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Help drive profitability through revenue enablement and identification of cost/efficiency opportunities.
- Leverage data, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve business processes, reporting, and decision-making.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in finance, strategy, risk, compliance, operations, or a related function within financial services, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and numerical skills.
- Minimum intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) and an interest in applying technology to improve business outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence to deal with people at all organizational levels.
- Flexible work attitude, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Curiosity to explore how AI can improve workflows, with sound judgment for validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
