About the Role
Toyota Connected Europe (TCEU) is seeking a Technical Project Manager to drive the delivery of products and services within a mobility services company undergoing a significant transformation. This role involves understanding technical products, managing project lifecycles, and ensuring successful collaboration across diverse teams.
Responsibilities
- Gain a deep technical understanding of products and drive delivery using structured methodology and practices.
- Develop project schedules, define timeframes, and prioritize tasks to achieve project targets.
- Track progress against milestones, ensuring quality and managing risks.
- Coordinate diverse teams to unblock issues and mitigate risks.
- Inform the senior leadership team of progress and schedule changes.
- Lead proactive risk and dependency management with mitigation planning.
- Assess and streamline work processes within teams.
- Identify stakeholders and create communication plans.
- Manage customer expectations through regular checkpoints and status updates.
- Provide timely communication to operational teams, senior leadership, and customers.
- Collaborate with senior Engineering team members to lead programs.
- Bring together multi-disciplinary teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Work with teams across the Toyota Connected ecosystem to deliver flagship products.
- Manage and control program budgets.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasts.
- Assist with presales estimation of effort for new engagements when required.
- Prepare for and deliver steering committee meetings and status updates.
Requirements
- Degree level education desired.
- Skilled in Project/Programme Management approaches (e.g., Prince2, PMP, APM) and Agile.
- Demonstrable experience running successful programs with multiple delivery teams using various development processes (e.g., DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, lean development).
- Ability to provide leadership and focus for delivery teams, building capability and fostering an environment that supports TCEU’s Vision and Values.
- Encourage innovation.
- Demonstrates a critical understanding of functional information (e.g., data/metrics and technical information).
- Experience shaping business cases and delivering tangible benefits, with the ability to articulate value non-technically.
- Experience building clear, concise, and well-structured functional material and recommending improvements.
- Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative about products and services to peers and customers.
- Experience tailoring communications for different audiences.
- Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively.
- Lives within a commutable distance to the office.
- Able to travel to the continent (20% travel).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project, Asana).
- Previous experience managing a data platform or data services is desirable but not essential.
- Open to permanent, contract, or contract-to-permanent positions.
