About the Role
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to manage the technical journey of our customers and partners, from understanding their challenges and demonstrating our technology's value to successful production integration. This role bridges GTM, Product Engineering, and R&D, serving as the technical authority in customer engagements and translating field insights into product and research input. You will help create the playbook, operate strategically, and remain hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive customer deployments by managing technical discovery, agreeing on evaluation and deployment plans, and ensuring alignment between customers and internal teams through production rollout.
- Demonstrate value by designing and executing rigorous evaluations with representative datasets, meaningful baselines, and metrics, translating results into compelling benchmarks, demos, and qualitative examples.
- Get customers into production by rapidly integrating and configuring our technology within customer Voice AI stacks, writing code, debugging real-time audio pipelines, validating latency and compute constraints, and resolving SDK issues.
- Build a scalable technical GTM engine by transforming recurring customer work into standardized workflows, tools, reference implementations, and documentation to enable linear effort scaling for customer evaluation and deployment.
- Shape the product from the field by understanding customer problems, identifying recurring failure modes, integration friction, and unmet needs, and structuring this information into actionable input for Product Engineering and R&D.
- Support technical communication through contributions to case studies, product education, technical content, talks, and product launches.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full-time experience in a technically demanding engineering role with a proven track record of independently owning complex projects from inception to completion.
- Hands-on experience with audio, speech, Voice AI, audio DSP, or a closely related field, with the ability to deeply reason about audio systems, evaluation data, model behavior, and their impact on downstream applications.
- A master’s degree in a STEM field, such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trust with technical engineers, explaining complex findings to non-specialists, asking incisive questions, and clearly communicating difficult technical conclusions.
- Understanding of production ML systems, including inference, latency, CPU/memory usage, concurrency, streaming state, reliability, and practical constraints of real-time model deployment.
- Solid engineering skills, including the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems, write clean and reliable code, and build reproducible tools and experiments.
- Excellent command of agentic engineering workflows, utilizing coding agents and AI tools for increased speed without compromising technical judgment or attention to detail.
- A product mindset, looking beyond immediate requests to recognize patterns and differentiate between customer-specific workarounds and opportunities for product improvement.
- A high-agency startup mindset, characterized by proactivity, comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities, and a willingness to undertake any technically credible work to advance customer or partnership goals.
