About the Role
UP42 is seeking a Product Designer to join their Design Team in Berlin. This role involves partnering with a Product Manager and engineers to develop products from concept to launch, focusing on complex, data-rich interfaces and contributing to a design system.
Responsibilities
- Take design work from an early idea through to delivery, proposing solutions to blockers.
- Serve as the primary design partner for the product team.
- Design for complexity, including dense data tables, long-running processes, and edge cases.
- Utilize research and product evidence to inform design decisions.
- Understand the problem thoroughly before designing a solution.
- Scope features, break them into manageable pieces, estimate timelines, and proactively communicate delays with contingency plans.
- Contribute to the design system by proposing and building components.
- Share work cross-functionally, incorporate feedback, and iterate on designs.
- Identify and act on improvements within their product area.
Requirements
- Experience delivering product design work end-to-end within a cross-functional team.
- Solid interaction (IxD) and visual/UI design skills, with the ability to simplify complex data and workflows.
- Strong Figma skills.
- Working understanding of how a design system is built, including component structure, behavior, and rules.
- Experience using research and product evidence (usability tests, customer conversations, support tickets, product data) for design decisions.
- Ability to distinguish between known information and assumptions.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and making progress with incomplete information.
- Ability to scope work, communicate honestly about timelines, and collaborate effectively.
- Fluent in English.
