About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Types accounting and financial statements, payrolls, statistical data, letters, memoranda, vouchers, reports, and requisitions.
  • Reviews accounts, reports, and other documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with procedures.
  • Indexes and files documents and correspondence.
  • Searches, locates, and records papers and documents.
  • Assembles data from office records for reports.
  • Prepares payrolls and maintains time cards.
  • Composes and types routine correspondence.
  • Assists in proofreading typed and printed material.
  • Answers telephone, provides routine information, and makes appointments.
  • Operates adding machines, calculators, and other office machines.
  • Collects and maintains records of fees collected by the department.
  • Operates an alpha-numeric keyboard to transcribe data to a computer.
  • Maintains records of petty cash fund.
  • Utilizes enhanced computer systems and equipment for clerical tasks.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
  • Completion of a course in typing.
  • One year of office clerical experience.
  • Completion of a one-year or longer post-high school secretarial course, including typing, may substitute for experience.
  • Additional office clerical experience, including typing, beyond one year may substitute for high school on a year-for-year basis.
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
