About the Role
This role focuses on licensed service work, including endorsements, certificates, binding, coverage questions, cancellations, reinstatements, renewal preparation, audit intake, and billing corrections. You will work directly with carriers and wholesalers, handling policy changes, payment actions, and reinstatement requests within your authority. The role requires quick turnaround times for service requests and involves handing off complex cases to specialists with complete information.
Responsibilities
- Keep policies current with the business through endorsements for new vehicles, drivers, locations, and equipment, plus limit changes within appetite.
- Issue certificates accurately based on customer contract requirements, including additional insured, waiver of subrogation, primary and non-contributory, loss payee, and notice of cancellation.
- Manage new business processes, including validation, chasing subjectivities, bind requests, document packets, policy delivery, and binder-to-policy checks.
- Answer coverage questions by interpreting policy documents and explaining coverage in plain language.
- Maintain coverage in force by managing cancellation notices, payment cures, reinstatement requests, and autopay enrollment.
- Prepare renewals by updating exposure information, reviewing loss runs, and flagging accounts for remarketing.
- Handle audits and inspections at intake, including collecting payroll and sales records, photographs, affidavits, and submitting to carrier portals.
- Process billing corrections and refunds within authority.
- Complete case handoffs to specialists by providing the full timeline and evidence pack for market or coverage judgment.
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams to improve the service workbench tooling.
Requirements
- 2+ years in commercial lines service, account management, or brokerage operations.
- Active property & casualty license, or the ability to obtain one quickly.
- Working knowledge of certificates, endorsements, and binding documentation.
- Ability to multitask across systems accurately.
- Comfort with technology and interest in working with AI tools.
- Based in New York City or San Francisco, or willing to relocate.
