About the Role

We are building an AI-led commercial insurance company that aims to revolutionize the industry by making it faster, more transparent, and more efficient. We are looking for individuals with deep expertise and the latitude to act on it to handle complex accounts and challenging customer situations. This role is crucial in shaping the future of our service organization and ensuring customer retention and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex accounts and challenging customer situations from end to end.
  • Manage premium audits, inspection recommendations, and renewals for better terms.
  • Handle E&S and surplus lines placements, including filings and binding packets.
  • Address coverage questions by interpreting policy forms and contracts.
  • Manage accounts at risk of cancellation to ensure continuous coverage.
  • Own relationships with underwriters and wholesalers, acting as their named contact.
  • Make decisions with latitude and escalate complex cases with recommendations to founders.
  • Develop playbooks and train the service team to scale expertise.
  • Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams for service workbench automation.
  • Work with carriers and wholesalers to place hard risks and remarket renewals.
  • Guide customers through audits and inspections, ensuring accuracy and understanding.
  • Manage eligibility, filings, surplus lines tax, and binding packets for E&S and surplus lines work.
  • Ensure coverage, class codes, and records are current as businesses evolve.
  • Resolve payment, financing, and cancellation situations to maintain coverage.
  • Build credibility with carriers and wholesalers to achieve better customer outcomes.
  • Train the tier-two group to handle increasing responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the automation of the service workbench.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in commercial lines underwriting, account executive, wholesale brokerage, or carrier-side roles.
  • Active property & casualty license; company handles non-resident and reciprocal licensing.
  • Existing carrier and wholesaler relationships.
  • Proven track record of owning complex commercial cases end to end.
  • Comfort with technology and providing feedback for service workbench improvements.
  • Based in New York City or San Francisco, or willing to relocate.
  • Ability to work in-office.
