About the Role
The Software Engineer on the Portfolio Engine (PE) team will manage the commercial and entitlement lifecycle of Splunk's cloud products. This involves building and maintaining systems that track customer ownership, ensure correct product delivery, and synchronize commercial records. The role requires collaboration with product owners and partner teams to develop and support backend services for cloud order fulfillment, and participation in an on-call rotation for critical issues.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs that manage customer entitlements, subscriptions, and commercial state across Splunk's cloud product portfolio
- Contribute to systems that automate order intake, validation, and fulfillment across multiple channels and product lines
- Simplify complex problems into manageable steps for yourself and your team
- Explore opportunities to improve team workflows, tooling, and engineering processes
- Engage in open design discussions and code reviews to drive collaboration and quality
- Assist with critical issues and on-call rotation to support platform reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree + 2 years of related experience OR Master's degree + 0 years of related experience
- Basic knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts of backend technologies, such as Go, Python, or associated ecosystems; exposure to current technologies through coursework or internship
