About the Role
Join our Early Careers program to solve complex business, technology, and customer problems alongside experienced consultants. Develop foundational consulting capabilities and gain exposure to enterprise transformation and AI. You will build software using our AI platform, Sapient Slingshot, and work on client projects from day one.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, and ship software for web, mobile, cloud, and enterprise platforms with AI agents assisting in code, tests, and documentation.
- Utilize AI across the software development lifecycle, from shaping requirements to generating and verifying code.
- Modernize legacy systems using AI to analyze code and recover business rules.
- Work with APIs, data, and cloud services on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Review code for quality, security, and accessibility, regardless of whether it was written by a human or an AI.
- Investigate production issues and incorporate learnings into future releases.
- Collaborate with clients from project discovery through delivery.
Requirements
- A university degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline, to be completed within 18-24 months of the March 2027 start date.
- Candidates from other disciplines are welcome if they can demonstrate engineering capability through projects, internships, bootcamps, or independent learning.
- Programming experience in at least one language such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools, understanding their capabilities and limitations.
- Ability to break down complex problems, reason through them, and test solutions.
- High standards for code quality, including tests, security, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Curiosity about cloud technologies, APIs, data, and automation.
- Comfort working in shared codebases with individuals from diverse disciplines and the empathy to consider different perspectives.
- A proactive approach to prototyping, seeking feedback, and learning from failures.
- Clear communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both engineers and clients in plain English.
