About the Role
This role leads key financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities. It partners with business stakeholders to improve commercial outcomes, identify risks and opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Produce month-end reporting, forecasting, and business planning deliverables using OneStream and other financial systems.
- Prepare detailed monthly variance analysis, providing insights into actual, budget, and forecast performance for senior management.
- Manage annual budgeting, business planning, and rolling forecast processes, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, work-in-hand, and net contract debtor reporting.
- Analyze financial and operational data from ERP, OneStream, and project systems to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Partner with Business Unit finance teams and project stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of project performance and forecast outcomes.
- Collaborate with Pre-Contracts and Risk teams to assess pipeline opportunities and forecast future work-in-hand.
- Support the preparation of executive-level reporting and financial information for senior leadership.
- Oversee the delivery of monthly management reporting requirements to CIMIC and contribute to Group-wide reporting initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on financial systems, forecasting methodologies, and reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting quality, automation, and overall process efficiency.
- Work collaboratively across Finance functions, including Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Finance Systems, and Business Unit Finance teams.
- Provide coaching and mentoring support to junior team members.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and financial analysis requirements from senior stakeholders.
- Ensure safety leadership and compliance with CIMIC's SHE Cultural Framework.
Requirements
- A degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or equivalent.
- 5-7 years' experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines.
- Experience working in a large, complex organisation, ideally with global operations.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes within a corporate environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong capability working with financial systems and reporting platforms.
- Experience with OneStream, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools (highly regarded).
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing executive-level reporting and presentations.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
- Construction, infrastructure, or services industry experience (desirable).
- International FP&A, finance, accounting, or audit experience (desirable).
- A collaborative approach, high level of professionalism, and commitment to supporting broader team and Group objectives.
